• Between 1997 and 2006, businesses with a majority female ownership grew 42.3 percent and annual sales increased 4.4 percent.
• Only .1 percent of the overall United States manufacturing industry is represented by women-owned businesses.
• A 2006 Women’s Business Enterprise National Council survey discovered 82 percent of corporations included “supplier diversity advocates” within their ranks, though 76 percent of corporations considered their supplier diversity programs “too small.”
