PaperWorks’ Mills Receive RPA-100% Certification

PaperWorks Industries Inc. (PWI) announced that its Philadelphia-based and Wabash, Indiana-based mills have achieved certification under the Recycled Paperboard Alliance's (RPA-100%) newly launched certification program focused on substantiating the recycled fiber claim associated with the manufacture of 100 percent recycled paperboard.

The 100% Recycled Paperboard Alliance (RPA-100%) is a non-profit, independent trade group representing the leading manufacturers in the recycled paperboard industry. The RPA-100% symbol appears on billions of packages annually and allows consumers to know that the paperboard used in the packaging of products is produced with 100 percent recovered fiber.

"We are proud of this achievement," said Jerry Tassone, senior director of sales and marketing at PaperWorks. "By using the RPA-100%'s trademark logo, we will be able to visibly communicate to consumers the 100 percent recycled content of our packaging, which is key seeing that a packaging's recycled content and recyclability are fundamental environmental considerations for today's consumer."

PaperWorks' customers will now be able to use the updated RPA-100% logo on packaging produced from the MasterWorks brands, which are made from 100 percent recycled fiber with an average of 65 percent post-consumer content.
